One of the things we regularly get asked is if our hosting can be used with DNS providers outside of Cloudflare.

Up until now this was the case, the whole DNS zone needed to reside within Cloudflare due to our use of the Cloudflare proxy and CNAME's as root.

As of 1st September 2022 we will be offering our UmbOne hosting service without the Cloudflare DNS requirement, we are able to achieve this by using Cloudflare for Saas when a website is running on the www. (or any other) subdomain, we will put in place a 301 redirect from the root domain (example.com) to the preferred subdomain handling all paths as part of the redirect.

For example:

https://example.com/page

would be silently redirected to

 https://www.example.com/page

This new service will require some manual configuration from ourselves, so if it is a service you wish to use please open a support ticket request to begin the process.
